Entity

Entity represents either a person or an organization and is the location for storing and retrieving profile information, such as name, email address, phone number, and mailing address. An entity has no formally defined required fields, but must contain a label by which it can be identified. For commonly created fields, see the standard fields page.

An entity is distinct from a User or Visitor in that they need not have used the software before, such as the case of point-of-sale customers or address book contacts.
